Midnight Call to an Ex-flame..

A frozen past now glittering ice,
tempted with glitter,
i searched for a fire to melt that ice.
Flames licked an icy soul,
pride, a rescue from a dreary hole.
Yet a melting pride, breathlessly drummed to a midnight cry.
So waves travelled and frothed a shore,
eager fingers reached out to savour
the gleaming crystal on that frothy shore.
lukewarm and placid, a stranger replied,
quenching a fire he once strived to beguile.
arrested heart and a cold demise,
demurely voiced a livid goodbye,
shattered crystal, pierced soggy dreams,
and then an illusion was set aflight.
